From the heart
Phokeng/ Rustenburg – Dineo Katane ‘Dee AfriQ’ launched a collection of songs at Lebone II College on 20 March that honour the power of the female spirit.
The collection Mosadi Wa Mo Afrika, is a tribute to her late mother and speaks to the heart. Dee, who hails from Phokeng, wants to spread her wings and share her love for her culture with the world. She only started to pursue a career in the arts in 2005 when she was taken on by Mmabana Arts.
They helped to develop her as a performing artist. Her training included theatre production, African contemporary dance and stage performance.
Her vibrant stage personality pulls you in, and her songs which she writes, makes you want to press the play button again. “I want to share our beautiful culture with the world, and inspire the people that listen to my music,” Dee told the Platinum Weekly. The album is available on cd and various digital platforms.
